Homily for the 27th Sunday of Ordinary Time (B)
One of the ways that we can look at this Sunday's readings is from the lens of gift-giving and gift-receiving. Sometimes human beings are not the best at doing either of these things. They are especially difficult concepts for adults. But not all is lost. Jesus calls his disciples to see the world through the heart of a child. Children are the best examples of how to receive and to give gifts. Adults need to remember that they were children at some point. They saw the world and the people in their lives as gifts just as children often do.
