Review of "The Giver"

I think one of the great things of living in the era that we do is that there have been a plethora of creative book and movie ideas in our past and present. The movie "The Giver" actually used a blend of two different ideas: the creativity of the past and the cinematography of the present. The book, which was written in 1993, uses a philosophical question as its basis, "is a seemingly utopian society truly a happy society?" Many philosophers and writers have imagined various forms of utopian societies, but they never really seem to come to the same utopian concept except that utopia is often distopian. This is the conclusion many philosophers and writers have come to throughout history and this is the conclusion we are led to when we watch the movie "The Giver"
