Whenever this Feast Day comes around every year, I cannot help but to be drawn into the image of the Pieta by Michaelangelo. He beautifully captures in a sculpture the scene of Mary holding the limp body of her Son, Jesus. It is a Feast Day that reminds us that Mary truly understands human sorrows, especially motherly sorrows.
