Solemnity of Christ the King (B)
Do you feel sometimes that when you interact with people either in person or online that you have to put on a mask? You sort of feel like you cannot be your authentic self? The person you put forth looks like you and sounds like you, but really isn't you. Almost as though you're playing a character of yourself.
We find ourselves at the end of the Church year celebrating the Solemnity of Christ the King. We have a familiar exchange between Jesus and Pilate wherein Pilate is asking Jesus if He is a King. The conversation turns to Pilate asking the question" "Quid est veritas?" (What is truth). The irony is that truth was the person standing right before him stripped down and vulnerable.
